テラッツァ白金｜Terrazza Shirokane

当該テナントは、白金のメインストリートに面したカーテンウォールの建物の２階フロアに位置し、その、街を身近に見渡す事が出来る特性から、「街との関係性」が必然的なテーマとなった。この敷地は、ファッションストリートに面していながら、自然教育園や東京大学医科学研究所にも隣接しており、複数の街区が交差する地点にある。今回は、この複数の街区を店舗内に引き込み、店舗内にて、この交差点を可視化することを試みた。このことで、店内にいながらも街とのつながりを感じ、ひいては、白金の街の魅力となっている多様性を認識してもらう事を意図している。各街区が持つイメージからそれぞれに対応したデザインスタイルを、白金らしいエレガンスという共通点のもとに構築し、「ファッションストリート」の街区は、その洗練された軽やかなイメージとして「ホワイトエレガンス」、「自然教育園」の街区は、その樹々のイメージとして「ナチュラルエレガンス」、「東京大学医科学研究所」の街区は、その伝統と格式のイメージとして「トラディショナルエレガンス」とした。店内に多様なデザインを与えることで、空間の緊張感がゆるみ、リラックス感が生まれる。これは、今回オーナーから与えられた命題「いろんな世代がくつろげる空間」に対する回答でもあった。

This restaurant is located on the second floor of a glass curtain wall building, which faces the main street of a fashionable neighborhood in Tokyo. As they have a great view from this tenant’s window, “building a connection with the neighborhood” spontaneously became our design challenge. This site is located at the intersection of three areas - a fashionable neighborhood, also adjacent to “the Institute for Nature Study” and “The Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo”. We are trying to incorporate characteristics from each area into interior finishes and furnishings to visualize this intersection of the three areas within the restaurant. More specifically, we divided the restaurant into three zones by using two lines, that are an extension of the two roads outside, then relating these three zones to the three areas outside. Also, we assigned a theme to each zone with the common theme of this neighborhood – elegance.

“Main street” zone: sophisticated white with elegance

“The Institute for Nature Study” zone: rich natural environment with elegance

“The Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo” zone: rooted in tradition with elegance

As a result, guests could feel a connection to the neighborhood and enjoy the area of diversity and vitality while sitting in the comfort of the restaurant.
