小海リエックス温泉施設｜Koumi RE-EX Hotel Spa Building

リゾートとしての品格と高原の爽やかさを感じられるデザインとした。景観の良い、白樺が生える丘の中腹に敷地を選んだ。それぞれ木と石をモチーフにした２つの浴室を、浅間山が望める景観の良い下り斜面に向かって開放的に配置。浴室に入るとまず開放的な露天風呂が視界に入る。それぞれの浴室に３つある浴槽は、お互いが眺望の妨げにならない様、雁行し下りながら配置した。浴室間の残余空間を休憩室として配置、見通しを遮らない背もたれのないソファをデザインした。

I tried to design a building which combines dignity and a natural openness as the resort hotel is in a plateau area. We chose the site on a hill with white birch trees. I designed two types of bathroom, one has a wooden motif and another has a stone motif, allocated expansively on a slope to have a good view towards Asama mountain, which is a famous landmark in the neighborhood. So at first, you find an open-air bath with the greatest view, when you enter the bathroom. There are 3 baths in every bathroom and these are positioned in a zig-zag pattern, descending toward the view, so you can enjoy a good view from all baths. Also I designed a restroom between bathrooms, and some sofas without backrest to retain the view.
